Oso Ighodaro has agreed to a three-year, $29 million contract extension with the Phoenix Suns, according to his agent, Erika Ruiz of Primera Sports, on Sunday.
The deal kicks in for the 2028-29 season and runs through 2030-31. Ighodaro is set to earn $2.2 million this year, and the Suns will pick up his team option for next year, worth $2.4 million.
Draft-night acquisition
The Suns acquired the centre from the Trail Blazers on draft night in 2024, after the Marquette product was selected with the No. 40 pick.
Ighodaro, 24, played 17 minutes per game in his rookie season for Phoenix before becoming a rotation staple last season. He averaged 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 22 minutes, and started 24 games.
Bigger role ahead
Starting centre Mark Williams is set to miss multiple months after shoulder surgery, so the Suns will rely heavily on Ighodaro and second-year big man Khaman Maluach.
