Last night i was unlucky.

I drove over 2 Big road bump (speed breaker/road hump) designed for bus at the speed of 130km/hr. This is what i have to do to get away for those illegal street racer gangster.

I only notice 2 times heavy sparks issued out from under my car at my rear view mirror as i flew pass the 2 big road bump. Also can be heard is a loud sound of metal scrapping the road.

Today i check out my under carrige i found this: (Picture tells tousand words)

What other damaged that i should check beside this? Please advice. Also what are the part number for the damaged parts in the picture?

I am thinking of future project upgrading it to supercharge.
What do you think? i don't have any R&D data to support this.
1. Will it work
2. Smooth power delivery and smooth idling?
3. The relaibility of supercharging?
4. Maintenance point of view?
5. How much will it estimate cost to supercharge it?
6. What type and model of used condition supercharger that can fit it?
7. What type of custom metal fabrication job required?
8. I am budgeting RM2K for this project. Will it be enough?

MIVEC-MD not much people buy this kind of engine to modified in my home town so i can't get much information about it.

By the way, i tried my current setup rev limit was at 7.8K rpm couldn't hit higher than that.

Currently saving money in damage repairs. Seems like my supercharging dream will have to put onhold.

I am buying MIVEC-MD for its fuel economies.
Travel constant highway at speed 90km/hr RM10 travel 102km averagely data collected. RM1.98 per liter so about 5 liter of RON97 unleded fuel.

Travel constant trunk road at speed maintain 60Km/hr 2000rpm+-10% 5th gear RM10 travel 120km averagely.

Mix mode (40%highway combine 60% city drive) fuel consumption is not so good.
RM10/5 liter at best can travel 60km.

Update on my economy little car
Today i just got my self a fair deal for an Evo meter. RM200 including installation.
(It got Volt meter, Water Temp meter, and a Boost meter)

Since my car still remain N/A, the boost meter actually show -ve boost.
Photo of the cute little analog meter:
Image

Back side of the meter:
Image

The empty place where my OEM radio + cassate unit (Very old unit since 1994) removed for wiring works.
Image

The wiring connected.
Image

My mechanic find me some used air hose for the boost meter (just for fun since it will show -ve boost)
Image

The hose was connected to the Map Sensor. the other end go into the cabin through the Old unused clutch cable hole.
Image

The finish product:
When idle, the boost meter show very low down in -ve zone while voltage at 13.++V.
Image

When light blip of the throttle, the boost meter still show -ve range but voltage at 14V.
Image

Power comparing with my friend mivec black-top nothing much different due to Mivec-MD only can hit max 7,800rpm based on my mivec controller digital reading while a normal Mivec can hit 8,000rpm.
I bought the -Md version as it is cheaper that time due to not much people want to buy due to harder to modify. The best things it can give is fuel economies. 5 litters+-0.5 of unleded RON97 fuel if drive in trunk road can strectch max 150km travel (Constant crusing at speed of 70km/hr with 5th gear at about 2,200rpm with MD mode auto switch on)

City driving i still fine tuning it to get better milege.

P.S.: Luckily i choose the -MD version as now fuel prices very high.

Additional updates: (Installed today 31 July 2008)
Today i found some new toys from my neighbour house (He runs a chop shop importer business)
Presenting the Defi meters for N/A cars.
Image

Sorry the wiring a bit loose (The long cable is to route to the meter at the Pilar mounted) not yet re-organise it.
Image

Its comes with the Oil Pressure Sensor (its a bit oily - used conditions)
Image
Image

Its also comes with the Vacuum sensor (Attched to the map sensor hose - any disadvantage attach here?)
Image

I got myself an aluminium used after market Water Temp Sensor as i couldn't find any Oil Temp sensor that fit the Mivec. Anyway, it will work for showing the water temp on the defi oil temp gauge.
Image

It is attached to the radiator hot water hose. Cut out a portion of it to fit it in.
Image
Image

My newly re-organised Dashboard layout:
(notice the small little defi meter (Oil Pressure, Oil Temp - connected to Water temp since couldn't find the correct adapter size for my engine at my town, and lastly the vacuum meter on the pilar supported by Greddy pilar holder)
Image
The controllers
Image

Turn on the key and the small defi meter jump to life:
Image
Image

Stabilised after engine warm um in idle mode
Image

Turn off and the meter slowly turn off its back light and needle light
Image

Thats all i have for this month...Next upgrade still not yet decide what to add on.

since this car is a daily driven car i think it is best to keep as it is.
if the recent fuel hike prices is your concern, nothing much can be done in the
engine bay if u plan to go economical.

if you want power with less mods i think NOS is the bang for the buck power per dollar
there is. heavy n/a mods, quads, turbocharged, supercharged are big no no.

just my 2 cents.

you're pretty brave to put the meters there bro.. as you already know in Malaysia, meter thefts are really on the look out for this meters.. i would advise you hide them since its really a huge investment that you've put in.

Hehe...i just thought about it after already install. For the time being, i use one big piece of towel (Bath towel) to cover the whole dashboard till the stering wheel and front windscreen i place the aluminium sun shade to cover it whenever i parked it at public places.

Still thinking where to relocate those meters.
