 Post subject: 4G93 Mivec to 4G94

Dear all Mivec Master ,

Good day i've been following this forum for some moment and finally i decided to post some question and i read a lot about this 4G92 Mivec - 4G93 or 4G94 hybrid.

But didn't see or heard any very good support from the forumer here regarding this upgrade. Does this really a bad combination?

currently my 4G92 Mivec already upgrade to 4G93 but everytime mivec kick in i will feel it 'lag' and even slower without mivec kick in .

upgrade to Greedy Emanage tune by my friend everything seem to be alright but the power wise was very disspointed , well not as good as i hope 170-180hp however never do dyno

Currently my friend willing to help me upgrade it to 4G94 but i'm worried this project will fail

If i upgrade to 4G94 do you guys think is easy to get after market performance parts for it ?
Does this ever success by any of you here?

i'm doing this for our Drag event to fight with Vtec

hopefully get some good advice from Mivec Owner here .

You will be told that 4g94's are no good :roll: but that are just as good as any engine... they wont rev as high as a 92 but you will get more torque from the bigger stroke,
there are lots of options for perfromance parts

the factory rods are not flash there are picturs in the other thread about them

I dont see why you can't make that sort of power, A couple of cars in the other thread has made 200+whp with a 94
4g94 hasnt been done much as there are to many haters that go on hear say... even when they get given the proof of how good they are!

Im going 4g94 because of the extra displacement, more torque and choice rod stroke ratio.

Was/is there a Gen1 4G94? Not seen one in the Uk but then I think we only have the Gen 2 4G94 in the Pajero Pinin.

Yes there is a Gen 1 Car with a 94 engine in it. but the 94 did not come out in Gen1. Does that make sense??

Power is nothing more than a figure you get at X rpm. Useful for bragging rights only.

If you want to go fast you need area under the torque curve between the lower and upper usable rev points.
A bigger motor will always have more of it than a smaller motor, everything else being pretty much the same.

The 4G94 SOHC that was in the CS6A lancer had factory forged rods due to the stroke, due to this i dont believe its a good idea to fully build a 94 Mivec, it doesnt rev (factory 6500rpm redline) but it will have ok torque, A SOHC 94 doesnt makes 92 kw at the engine, why would you bother?

93 Hybrid works ok and is proven, plus if you use a 93 Turbo bottom end they are very strong and you can buy forged components for them easily (except pistons for NA use)

What was the Wheel power and torque figures for your 94 Hybrid Jsuazo24? You seem to be happy with it, or are you just happy it has stayed together? I would make an assumtion it will make less power than a 92 Mivec with the same mods and obviously wont rev

Just my opinion nothing else
