OK heres what i have so far for 4wd conversion.

You can use only REAR parts from the PRE 1996 as the gearbox has only one output from 1996 ONWARDS


--== REAR DIFF ==--

CL2A runs 3.312 (or 3.313) rear diff ratio

Evo 1 runs 3.909
Evo 2 runs 3.909
Evo 3 runs 3.909

CD5A runs 3.545 (1991-1995 GSR) (Manual)
CD5A runs 3.307 (1991-1995 GSR) (Automatic)

Evo 4 runs 3.312 (both GSR AYC and RS LSD) 1996-1997
Evo 5 runs 3.312 (RS LSD ONLY) (SNGF)
Evo 5 runs 3.307 (GSR AYC ONLY) (SDNF) 1997-1998
Evo 6 runs 3.307 (both GSR AYC as RS LSD) (SNDF SNGF SNGF2) 1998-2000

CM5A runs 3.312 (1996-2001 GSR) (Manual)
CM5A runs 3.307 (1996-2001 GSR) (Automatic)

EC4W runs 3.312 (both AYC and non-AYC) (Legnum 2.0L V6 4WD)
EC5W runs 3.312 (both AYC and non-AYC) (Legnum 2.5L V6 4WD)
Diff mounts are different to fit the subframe that is twice the size of the Lancer/Mirage. Also runs an additional Dynamic Damper to reduce vibration similar to the front one on the Mirage

VR4 runs 3.545 (1990- )
Automatic VR4s may have a 3.308 diff ratio



--== TRANSFER CASE ==--

Same parts as the Legnum VCU (viscous coupling unit)


--== REAR SUBFRAME ==--

CL2A rear subframe shares with:
Evo 1
Evo 2
Evo 3
Evo 4
The Evo 4 subframe requires custom lower arms due to the mounts being moved inwards. Evo 4 lower arms do not fit as the Evo 4 hub also has a different mounting point

The Evo 5 and 6 run wider mounting points for the increased rear track (tyres are mounted further apart) and can not be used


--== REAR SWAYBAR ==--

CL2A has no rear swaybar. But you can fit:
Evo 1
Evo 2
Evo 3
Provided you swap the lower arms to ones that have the tabs welded for the swaybar ends to mount to. Swaybar mounts the the chassis like the other Lancers and Mirages.
Evo 4
Provided you run the Evo 4 subframe (swaybar mounts to subframe) and rear upper arms (swaybar ends connect to the top rear multilink)

--== REAR TRAILING ARM ==--
Includes rear hubs

CL2A has Evo 1, 2 trailing arm setup fitted with 4x 100 PCD hubs.
They are the lightened version with the inner skin running oval cut outs along it.
Evo 1
Evo 2
Evo 3
All will bolt up and give 4x 114.3 PCD hubs.
Evo 3 rear arms and hubs are actually slightly different and will bolt up but increase the rear track.

Evo 4 alloy setup will not fit due to the mounting point on the body for the upper one peice arms being further out on the Mirage. This also explains why the Evo 4-6 run different upper shock mounts, they are mounted on a slight angle and not parallel like the other Lancers and Mirages.

evo 4 alloy subframe is same set up as evo5/6 except 20mm less track not evo 1/2/3/ cm5a/cl2a

rs rear diffs use longer dr shafts than ayc diffs and different diff hangers fr and rear .
all rs type diffs use same clutch packs evo1-9.

From Memory the Automatic CD5A and CM5A GSR runs a 3.307:1 rear diff too Rabbit.

So automatics aren't even good for parts, is that what your saying :lol:

Pretty much :lol:

CD5A/CC4A/CC3A rear subframes should be options aswell. Also, GSR rear brakes are the same as Evo I-III. (More options)

Does te early 4wd hatch have the same sized disc's front and rear?

on the CD5A motorkhana car i built i changed the rear discs to drums from a CD8A to increase the handbrake effectivness, worked really well

Mine had pretty much the same setup as a CD5A. 254mm vented discs and single pots up front, and the same rears as GSR/Evo I-III

You can still have LSD by swapping just the LSD not the case and gears. That way you keep the correct ratio, and thats what i'll be doing.

Correct, the rear sway bar mounts to the top of the rear subframe on the 4wds not to the bottom arms like the fwds :D

The CL2A has no swaybar mount welded to the subframe as far as i could see. So now I have a 93 GSR one that does. The swaybar still mount to the lower arms at the rear.

The CL2A mirage is exactly the same spec as a CJ2A or CK2A, but obviously 4wd, all the '2' models are pretty average spec and dont have rear swaybar, they were never built with performance in mind :lol:
