i have a problem that seemed to send my 4g92 mivec into limp mode. The engine light flashes once after ignition .. when driving huge backfires can be heard when gearing down, could this problem be the map sensor ? please help .. thanks

Sounds about right. I'm not sure you're in limp mode as opposed to just overfuelling and the engine running like crap.

Have you checked for fault codes yet?
