hi all,

Can anyone provide the part no's and reputable online retails who can supply the ff parts for a 2nd gen rs engine? My engine's compression is extremely off spec and i'm planning to do a rebuild.

parts:
piston rings
head gasket
head bolts
con rod bolts
intake / exhaust gaskets

thanks!

All those parts would be the same as a non RS engine.
There is a member here (broomfish) who can most likely help you out. Has a website too:

thanks for the referral. checked out the site and wasn't able to find any listing for piston rings. i've also looked at camskill and performance unlimited with no luck. :(

the ff info is what i have so far: our engines piston ring = MD 177118 STD

what is available locally from the dealership is part no.: MD 173211 (for standard 4g92 sohc)

anyone here know if these are the same parts? i've tried asking the dealership if they had md177118 but was told that it was not in their master list. they couldn't give me any other info otherwise.

There's a replacement for the MD177118: MN137973 which superceeded that part number which is also used on Certain Carismas, Pajeros etc.

I believe 4G93 rings should fit as well, which are easy to find:

Is it the GDI models that use the same rings?

Yeah, same 81mm bore, even the GSR are the same. Hastings 4G93 ones should do the job.
