Hi,

This is my first official run at Malvern Stage in Barbados. The car is a 1997 Mitsubishi Colt GL with a 1998 Mirage RS full conversion. It is full metal body panel, Modena 5 speed dog box with 5.1 final, Wolf V500 engine management and a butchered Fujitsubo RM01 Exhaust System.

looks like a real fun road to drive. love the engine sound and gearbox whine
you need to stabilise your camera mount though ;-)

Thanks. Yes I think I have solved the camera mount problem now. I have a rally on Sunday so it will be tested then.

The box is a Modena 5 speed dog box. I had an ATS 3,4,5 gearkit before which was great but the Modena is times better even though the first gear is very long.

Is the modena dog box a straight fit?

Nice video too ;)

Modena is a direct replacement gearkit for the Gen 2 mivec gearbox. It comes with either a 5.1, 4.7 or a 4.3 final drive. The first gear is longer than normal which is great for rallying or dragging depending on which final drive you use or your engine spec. For example, I would the 4.3 fd would be great for a turbocharged dragger while with the 5.1 for an NA car like mine, it is a bit lazy off the line but the first gear is now useful for hairpins and tighter corners.

Thanks Kirby,
Do you know if they have a website with the gear ratios?
And, is it possible to just use the FD and not the whole dog assembly?
