Is the BC Racewear suits any good? http://www.bcracewear.com/product.htm

I'm looking for a entry level suit thats not going to cost me the earth.

I also found this combo deal: http://www.chicane.co.nz/promo/kit.pdf

Anyone know if either of the above suits are ok - or can recommend anouther company/brand?

Personally I try and stick with FIA approved saftey gear, or at least buy from companies that also make FIA spec gear. The BC racewear stuff is cheap because it doesn't meet any international standards (ie no costs of testing/compliance built into the price).

Don't forget flamecrusher when shopping around for a deal.

Like most things, you get what you pay for. The 'minimum' requirement for club events, is 'cotton' overalls. Basically, anything is going to be much better than that.

FIA approved stuff all the way...it costs more (sometimes way more) but when you're flailing about on fire, you'll be glad you paid extra...

Don't skimp on helmet either. Its probably more important than a 'fancy' racesuit. Not every crash will result in a fire, but every crash will probably result in your head hitting something.
