Hey there, I'm 23 and I've owned a mivec blacktop MR for around six years now, four of which the car was deregistered and turned over every so often to idle warm. Over the past few weeks I've been slowly pushing my gears into a GLXi that I bought from my brother, same year lancer only 1600 sohc. As mivec MR had discs all round, and a mad size difference, I have swapped them . No more drum assembly. The first problem I encountered was the handbrake cables that hook to caliper, GLXi didn't have the extra stopper to fit caliper. Nor was it exactly the same at balancing plate near hand pull. The one question I have is do I need to swap my proportioning valve over? Or is this just a brake loss not worried about? I have taken mivec MR pv out anyway just incase. Anyone done a GLXi swap or does anyone know? Cheers , Rhys in Dunedin

In theory, Rear disc brake models have a different part number pv to drum models, so if it is available i would swap it over.
In reality i have done rear brake swaps before ( even a disc to drum ) and not swapped them with no issues

Cheers broomfish, I do have it available so will prob look at codes and or size differences and get back to this post with my find. Glad to know theres other people with mivec interest. And thanks heaps for prompt reply. I'll probably add photos of my swap at some stage. Nothing special like your ones, but I appreciate them all the same and will be working my way up to worthiness
