Hey guys having a bit of bother with my 4g92 1.6 mivec.
When she's warm enough to crossover it will crossover perfect for the first 10 to 15 minutes then she will splutter crossing over and struggle between 6 to 8 thousand revs have read around and it seems to be a problem with some mivecs and vtecs etc. can anyone help me with the issue no one knows what it could be that I know, the car has 2.5 stainless straight pipe with no cat or silencer maybe not enough back pressure, but doesn't explain why it runs good the first time?
Car has just got new timing belt, water pump, and full service with all oils changed could it be fuel pump, fuel filter? Can anyone help? Thank you

Have you tried pulling the error codes? Saved me a bunch of times...

My old ZR engine used to do that, after killing the bottom end and stripping it I saw signs of head gasket failing but no water/oil mix symptoms or white smoke. It had exactly the same symptons you're having after trying the usual ignition, coils, plugs routine.

If it's not electrical (wire a voltmeter to the solenoid), then it's a lack of oil pressure.

I've changed the coil pack still using same leads as it still works perfect for first few minutes, it is smokey and burning oil a good bit
