You always start in the middle and work out to the ends. 80 ft lbs is about normal for a GTO 6G72. Some owners like to go to 90 ft lbs.Don't go more.
The torque setting is to do with the bolts, not the engine. The 6G bolts are all the same.
The tappet clearances, use the spec for the 1.6 mivec, service manuals on this site. From memory 0.1 or 0.15 mm, but you need to look it up. Set it too loose and it's really noisy at idle.
