An update on the car...

Rear diff solid mounted off the custom strut towers and alloy addapters made for the front diff hanger.

Sold my modified factory pedal box and installed a three pedal AP floor mount unit.

Cut out all the floor bracing and installed the seats on custom roolcage seat rails whihc put the seats as far back and low as possible.

Made custom mounts for the sequential shifter and handbrake.

Installed Sparco dished steering wheel with lifline quick relase and momo boss kit. Realligned the steering collum to suit the new driving position.

Sold the M400 ecu and now going with the new M84 as it's cheaper and better for club spec.

Also sold the ugly blue foam rollcage padding and now have FIA approved black shock absorbtion stuff. Looks heaps better.

Upgraded the side protection for the rollcage to reflect the new seating position and rehamologated.

TO DO:
Upgrade seats to ractech type with the head protectors.
Finsih Wiring - Motec PDM?
Make Custom DASH - Like in the WRC Fiesta
Drive it one day...

Panel Work done by Craig Howser.
Sunroof removed, Fiberglass guards blended in a little better and dents taken out. Also some welds and holes in floors tidies up.

Going to the paint shop on Tuesday, Can't wait to finally be putting it back together in a painted shell.

Hoping to have back together for the Hamilton Car Club hill climb.

Still lots and lots of little things to do thou.

This years wish list for mods...
EVO 5 hubs, arms and 5 stud conversion.

Oh dear, has it been 6 months?

What have I been doing?

Well I got it dyno tuned with the new M84 MoTeC but found out that the 3" exhaust was too big and I had not boost control, so that ended up popping the head gasket but it had produced 280KW ATW, more than I wanted, which was the problem. So I made a 2.5" system and flowed the turbo with a custom enlarged wastegate and RS500 Actuator that I had spare from when Colin McRae had is car in dad's workshop 25 years ago, I thought that might come in handy one day :)

So to make it a little more reliable I also put in some ACL bearing, an HKS headgasket, polished the head and fitted ARP headstuds, but kept the factory rods and pistons as they seemed to handle the extra boost okay and I had them tested, so they should be good at 18PSI which should see a more manageable 250KW ATW

Other things to keep me occupied where an EVO 5 conversion, but I'm not happy with it and would prefer EVO 6 as they have the adjustable ball joints to correct the castor problem in the front, but it does look really good on the EVO 6 wheels.

I have given up on the alloy rear wing and will be fabricating something special by hand, watch this space...

Work is progressing slowly on the custom dash, I have given up on th sequential shifter as it was too hard to keep adjusted and was slower in the shift than the H pattern, but I had already made the gear indicator by then so that's staying in the dash. I am also working on an Arduino CAN LCD interface for the MoTeC to finish the instrumentation, not quite WRC styles but just as techo.

Things to do...
Rear Wing
Finsih Dash
Comply

Wish List...
MoTeC CDL
Racetech 4000HR seats
Lexan Side windows
Roof Scoop
Carbon Center Tunnel
4G64 Block with Stroker Crank and EVO 8 Cylinder Head, Custom intake Manifold and T04 mounted off the subframe in an enlarged center tunnel, who had a close look at the WRC Fiesta layout? That's what I'm thinking but big block big turbo baby, yeah!

Forgot This one with the EVO 6 wheels on the 5 Stud Conversion. Note! No wheel spacers required as the offset is correct when running the EVO 3 Trailing ARM.

Well that is if you are talking about the clearance between the wheel and the dampner that is, because the outer guard has been tubed and the towers have been lifted, but they fit now!

Looks nice bro. What rear lower arms did you use to get the wheels to suit the wider width

Here is an in car of how it went.

The steering rack was moving in the bushes as it turns out, that is why it was hard to keep straight.
