I have both , why not  Civic is far cheaper to build as a project car, I would not go building up Mirage, parts are very expensive, only JDM really. The only project I would do with a Mirage is to swap EVo engine with a low milage , keep it stock and reliable and just enjoy , but I do not have funds at the moment ... plus why waste Cyborg for that , better just take normal Colt

Still I kept Borg just for it's uniqueness  but will keep it as a weekend car , daily I drive smart :D and don't give a f... what people think about it , I m still a student and it's really saving me some petrol :-)
By the way I don't like ACL bearing , they do not make colors to match stock crank and can cause a lot of damage ... happened to a lot of my friends.
Here is my civic project :-)

I did everything myself with a little bit of help from my friend on electrical stuff and except for the respray, B18C4 engine was smoking bad so it did need some work .. thought it might be just valve seals but the cylinders were bad too , so the cost if that is what you are asking was roughly..

-engine re-bore and head rebuild with supertech valve seals round 300 eur with all gaskets etc ...
-pistons 150 eur from ebay
-New Honda OEM rod bearing 150 eur ( with colors to match the crank, and had to wait a month for them )
-Performer X with throttle round 200 eur
-Mugen exhaust was on the car already I just gave it a polish
-Eagle head studs I do not really remember but roud 150 eur too ...
-ITR cams with spring valves 200 eur
-Exedy clutch 200 eur
-Custom lightweight flywheel -50 eur
-Custom cold intake round 100 eur

all pict from build here https://picasaweb.google.com/1129731338 ... 8Blablabla
and a lot of other stuff i do not remember ...

I did strip down it myself and put it 2getter , a lot of thing did broke down like plastic clips and they cost a fortune in Honda.
I breaking in the engine now. but next week I should go for some dyno session and tune using Crome so will see some number hope the engine won't blow in pieces ....

When it comes to Cyborg I not touching the engine, in the last 6 month the oil level has not even dropped and I been riding on redline a lot ... amazing

Think I will get rid of AC, since it was hardly working any ways and was thinking to get rid of power steering too but that will be a bit hardcore ..

I thought ACL bearings were "the standard" these days, sort of like ARP bolts?
Can you explain what you mean by color?

Also it is so weird you have such similar cars. I have often considered getting an EK9 or DC5R but feel they are too similar to my coupe and would want something completely different (ie, turbo, RWD or AWD, or V8)

Cars are different Borg is for everyday use , civic is only hardcore street use :-)

Civic made only 204 Hp at the crank on the dyno :( :( :( cannot get it working right on 340cc injectors and idle is impossible to set

here some vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuW1hNJuYzc&hd=1
